30 Days on Fire: Basics and Rules
So this project. What is it? What does it mean? What does it entail?
Or in other words, what the hell am I doing?
Good question.
Here's what I know - and what I plan to find out - in a nutshell:
I quit my job. I don't have another one (yet).
I want to spend 30 days figuring out what makes me happy. And, hopefully, finding out what career will make me happy, too.
I can do this only because I have worked hard and been diligent in saving money. It won't last forever, though, so this timeline is serious. No time for Netflix and naps.
During the 30 days I will: volunteer, spend time outdoors, prioritize holistic health, do things that make me - and others - happy, read, foster and grow relationships old and new, reach out to people i admire, follow my passions, pursue professional development, and a hundred other things
At the end of the 30 days, I hope to be: happier, healthier, kinder, and on my way to a life - and career - that fuels my spirit's fire.
The Rules
This will be an epic failure if I don't create - and abide by - some strict rules and regulations.
Write a blog or record a vlog every day - to hold myself accountable and track my progress
Volunteer at a different non-profit at least once each week
Complete at least one random act of kindness each day
Spend 2-3 hours a day pursuing my dream job (networking, applying, contacting connections, etc.)
Prioritize holistic health - mind, body, spirit - through meditation, yoga, church, journaling, reading, healthy eating, excercise, etc.
Read, read, read - books that inspire and encourage me
Every day, do something to strengthen a relationship (send a letter, write a note, or make a call - to a friend, sibling, parent, grandparent, cousin, etc.)
No television between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, limited personal social media, etc.
Spend as much time as possible outdoors (Americans spend 95% of their time indoors, yuck).
Whenever possible, do only things that make me happier, kinder, or generally a better person
