Day 2: I could get used to this
It's officially day two of #30DaysOnFire.
And, let me tell you, things are going great. Last night I found myself singing Happy and dancing around the apartment in my loosies (loosies: n., cozy clothes, pajamas, jam jams; the comfy outfit - preferably with an elastic or loose drawstring waistband - you immediately put on once you toss your bra).
Anyway.
If yesterday - day one - was any indication, I'm in for a pretty great 30 days.
I did two big things from my "happy list" (shared in yesterday's post) -
I went on a long jog outside and stopped in the park to take in this beautiful scene (so that's two happy birds with one stone - excercise and the outdoors!)

- I spent time with a new friend who I met via Care.com, a website that connects caretakers and companions (say that three times fast, "connects caretakers and companions") with people who may need some help - busy parents who need a sitter for their kids, stressed out business people looking for assistance, or - what I'm doing - elderly people who need a little TLC (tender lovin' care, not Waterfalls. Although couldn't we all use a listen to that jam, too?) I'll share more about this wonderful experience in another blog post soon!
I also posted my first vlog, check it out on my new YouTube channel.
Oh, what's that? You're wondering if I followed my rules?
Let's see:
Write a blog or record a vlog every day - Yep, both!
Volunteer at a different non-profit at least once each week - I reached out to Meals on Wheels to schedule something for this weekend.
Complete at least one random act of kindness each day - I sent my best friend from college a surprise birthday gift!
Spend 2-3 hours a day pursuing my dream job (networking, applying, contacting connections, etc.) Come on, it was only day one!
Prioritize holistic health - mind, body, spirit - through meditation, yoga, church, journaling, reading, healthy eating, excercise, etc. Went on a jog in the park
Read, read, read - books that inspire and encourage me I read aloud to my new elderly friend an awesome book called "Advice from my 80 Year Old Self"
Every day, do something to strengthen a relationship (send a letter, write a note, or make a call - to a friend, sibling, parent, grandparent, cousin, etc.) Uh... today! I promise~
No television between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, limited personal social media, etc. YES! Can't believe I didn't Netflix OR nap.... I am a new woman.
Spend as much time as possible outdoors Check.
Whenever possible, do only things that make me happier, kinder, or generally a better person. "Whenever possible" being the key phrase here. I had to go to the grocery store which I dread. Note to self: have a better attitude about this. Stat!
