Day 8: week one, done.

I can't believe it's already the second week of #30DaysOnFire. How is this happening?

So far, things have been going gr8 (get it? they're going great and it's day 8?). I'm doing things I didn't have the time or energy or soulpower for before - volunteering, meditating, running, cooking, reading, etc. - and feel so, so, so much happier.

But to be honest, there's still stress. I mean, let's face it: I don't have a job. A source of income. Health insurance. Or any idea where I'll be 22 days from now. If I'm being realistic and honest with myself, I know there's a big chance I'll still be right here. In my kitchen, eating a can of soup, jobless.

And that's a little scary.

I knew starting out that finding what sets my soul on fire in 30 days would be hard. I also knew finding a job that fueled that fire within those 30 days would be hard. V hard.

But I set out on the journey anyway. And here I am, eight days in, doing ok. Have I been discovered as the next Ellen Degeneres? Not yet. Has The Huffington Post asked me to be a contributing writer? Not quite. Has my LinkedIn been blowing up with impressive new connections? Not at all.

But that's ok! I'm doing this for me. For my own mental, physical, and emotional well-being. And if that's how I'm measuring "success" (whatever that is) - I'm doing just fine.
